Windtechnic drives innovation in molds for concrete towers through the MOLICO project
Windtechnic collaborates in the MOLICO project – “Research into new molds through hybrid manufacturing for the transformation of production processes in the wind energy sector”, an initiative supported by SPRI through the Hazitek Competitivo program. The project is being developed together with Cramix, Grupo Fertor, and Inkatec, in collaboration with the technology center Tecnalia.
The rapid technological advancement of the wind energy sector requires constant redesigns of wind turbines, which limits the reuse of molds and reduces the profitability of production processes. In response to this challenge, the MOLICO consortium is committed to additive manufacturing and automated processes as a flexible and competitive alternative to traditional steel molds.
The project proposes the on-site production of high-performance polymer molds for the manufacture of concrete wind towers, offering advantages such as reduced mold weight, lower waste generation, faster mold production, and an overall improvement in the competitiveness of wind energy projects.
Through its participation in MOLICO, Windtechnic strengthens its commitment to technological innovation and the development of advanced solutions that contribute to the digital and sustainable transformation of the wind energy sector.
Our team of experts in engineering and construction of concrete towers is always ready to offer customized and sustainable solutions adapted to your needs.
