Construction Approval obtained for setting up a new precast facility in South Africa

Construction Approval for the precast concrete factory has been granted by the Local Municipality in Middelburg, Eastern Cape Province (South Africa). The facility will have 7,000 m2 of covered area on a 67,000 m2 plot and will manage to reach a maximum production capacity of 2.5 towers per week by employing up to 400 people (many of them from local communities). The objective of the new factory is to supply concrete towers for the wind farms that will be built in the area in the coming years within the framework of the REIPPPP Round 5 and Round 6 auctions, thus, contributing to the carbon offsets of the generated electricity in South Africa. ACME Concrete Masonry Enterprises Ltd, is owned by both Windtechnic Engineering and Concrete Units.
