A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Windtechnic Engineering S.L., a Spanish firm specializing in concrete towers for the wind energy sector, and RDB-El Seif Company Ltd., a Saudi company with extensive expertise in precast concrete works. The collaboration aims to introduce precast concrete tower manufacturing (both full and hybrid types) for onshore wind projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Effective May 27, 2025, the agreement reflects the joint intent to contribute to the development of Saudi Arabia’s wind energy sector by localizing the production of concrete towers. Given the large scale of upcoming projects and the Kingdom’s localization goals, precast concrete towers are considered an ideal solution for the region.
This partnership combines decades of engineering and construction expertise in precast concrete wind towers with established local manufacturing capabilities. Windtechnic brings experience in over 100 tower designs and the construction of 700 towers across four continents. RDB-El Seif operates a network of four factories across Saudi Arabia, offering large-scale production capacity and deep knowledge of the local market.
Precast concrete towers are recognized for their ability to support taller turbines and enable installation in remote or logistically challenging environments. Their use reduces reliance on imported steel, lowers transportation complexity, and minimizes the overall carbon footprint. The approach also supports local job creation and aligns with broader economic development and sustainability objectives in the Kingdom.
